The Seleção are used to success at all levels, but have not won a trophy since the 2009 Confederations Cup. The senior, women"s and under-17 sides were all in competitive action over the summer, but none were able to bring home a prize.

Now, Uvini and his teammates have the chance to restore Brazil"s habit of winning silverware when they face Portugal in the final of the Under-20 World Cup on Saturday night in Bogota, Colombia.

“I feel very proud to captain this team and naturally I"m hoping to win the title," Uvini told FIFA.com. “I want to be the one who lifts the [Under-20 World] cup for the fifth time for Brazil.

“This is a dream for me. My aim was to reach the final but it hasn"t sunk in yet," he continued. “It"s going to take a while for me to take it all in, and though we still have a big step to take, it would be beautiful to finish it all off by taking the title."

He concluded by praising Brazil"s togetherness, adding: “Aside from our beautifil football, we also play with our hearts, which I think makes a difference. We"ve battled in every game and stuck together like a family, helping each other out. I think that"s the key.
