The 31-year-old has not played for the Seleção since last November, and was not selected in Mano Menezes" squad for the friendly against Germany on Wednesday night.

However, Ronaldinho is quoted by FIFA.com as saying: “Returning to the Brazil squad is what I"ve been dreaming of. Physically, I"m in top form. From now until the World Cup [in 2014] a lot of things can happen, but I believe I can make a positive contribution to the national team."

Vanderlei Luxemburgo, the manager of Flamengo, also recently stated his belief that Ronaldinho could return to the national side. The ex-Barcelona forward is currently the top scorer in the 2011 Brasileirão, and last night provided the assist for Flamengo"s winning goal against Coritiba.

He has won 88 caps for the national side since making his debut in 1999, but missed out on the 2010 World Cup squad under former boss Dunga. He has so far only featured once during Menezes" spell in charge.
