Corinthians have now confirmed that they are trying to convince Argentine coach Carlos Bianchi to join them.

Bianchi is a legend within the Argentinian game and has led Boca Juniors to a hatful of titles over the years, including the World Club Championship. Other clubs are interested in him with Real Madrid watching things carefully.

He has been identified alongside current Santos coach and ex-Brazilian national team boss, Wanderley Luxemburgo, as their preferred choice.

Corinthians have offered both men the same package, reported to be $1m per year contract, and are awaiting their response.

Luxemburgo, a regular face on the Brazilian managerial merry-go-round, has neither accepted nor declined this offer and is said to be waiting for the conclusion of the Brazilian National Championship before he makes his decision.

This follows Corinthians signing of Carlos Tevez and reconfirms MSI’s investment in the club.
