Struggling Avai have reportedly brought in three new players to help their bid for Campeonato Brasileiro survival.

After losing 3-1 to Internacional on Thursday, Avai are currently second bottom of the table with just seven points and one win. They are four points away from safety, but have received a boost to their squad according to Terra.

The biggest name of the three is Claudio Caçapa. The 35-year-old defender has previously played in England with Newcastle United after making his name with Lyon. He also picked up three caps for the Seleção, and was most recently with Evian.

Also joining the side are Caique, on loan from Vasco da Gama, and Marcos Paulo, who returns to the club after a spell with Coritiba.
