However, Cesar was critical of his own individual performance, having been at fault for both of Ecuador’s goals, and added: “I think my performance was poor. It was not what I expected.
“There are some things I can improve. The second goal was a bit harder than the first, but for both I made bad decisions and did not have time to make a save. I would give myself a rating of about two out of ten.
“I know my potential and what I can give to the team, but we have three goalkeepers here and I must prove my worth. No-one has a guaranteed in the team and I must show my value,” he concluded.
