Sambafoot recently reported that Real have told Marca a list of players they are prepared to allow to leave, with Kaka being one of them. Mourinho does not have control over who the club buy and sell, but spoke recently about his desire to hold on to Kaka.

“I wish to clarify a few things in regard to Real’s transfer plans,” he was quoted as saying by Inside Futebol. “As regards Kaka, I have faith in him and he will recover from injury. The criticism directed at him is unfair. Kaka was just unlucky with injuries; he is still a fantastic player. We are keeping him.”

Kaka joined moved to Madrid from AC Milan in 2009 for a then world-record fee of €68.5 million. He has played 53 times and scored 16 goals in his two seasons with Real, but has regularly suffered from injuries and missed eight months of the 2010-11 campaign after surgery on his knee.

He has played for Brazil 82 times since 2002, scoring 27 times, and has played at the last three World Cups. However, he is not currently a part of Mano Menezes’ squad, and has not played for the national team since last summer’s quarter-final defeat to the Netherlands.
