Ganso has been linked to numerous clubs and speculation that he will move to Europe has increased dramatically in the last few weeks. After the likes of Robinho and Emerson giving their opinion on the future of the 21-year-old attacking midfielder, Thiago Silva now hopes Milan will make an effort to take him to Italy.

He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I have read that the deal has come to a stop. I have read that he may arrive in December, but that’s no good; Ganso must be taken now. This is the right time. To me, it seems like Milan have very clear ideas on how to strengthen the squad.

“Next year we will try to win everything. With the right purchases, we won’t feel envious of Barcelona. That’s why I said we must not lose any time with Ganso,” added Silva, who helped Milan to win the Serie A last season. “I want to lift the Champions League trophy. It is a dream that I’ve had ever since I was a little child.”

Ganso’s fitness is currently being monitored by Brazil ahead of the Copa America. He is suffering from a thigh injury and is likely to miss the two upcoming friendlies against the Netherlands and Romania, but coach Mano Menezes is still hopeful he will recover for the tournament in Argentina next month.

Silva himself has been the subject of transfer speculation and was rumoured to be on his way to Spain. However, he has signed a new contract until 2016, and commented: “Finally Real Madrid and Barcelona have understood that I want to stay with the Rossoneri for the rest of my life.”
