Why did you return to Brazil after playing only 1 year in Portugal?

[photo=entca.jpg id=112 align=right]Carlos Alberto

After one wonderful year in Portugal, where I won 4 medals, I got the chance to return to Brazil to play for a great club, Corinthians. What motivated me, beyond this, was my objective to play in the Brazilian national team and also the dream that I have to play in World cup finals. Here in Brazil the possibility of this happening is bigger, and I am working very hard to reach this objective.

Do you prefer to play in attack or midfield?

Carlos Alberto

I am just happy to be on the pitch, this is more important than my position. More important to me is getting lots of the ball during the game.

You already are a champion of Europe, besides having gained the Intercontinental Club Championship in 2004 playing with Porto. Which memories to treasure of this time?

Carlos Alberto

Already I’ve had the chance of living many happy moments, but my favourites are the Intercontinental Club Championship and the Champions League. I keep many good memories of the Europe, made some good friends for and enjoyed excellent moments at Porto.

You still think about the selection to the national team?

Carlos Alberto

My return to Brazil was a direct reply to that question. My objective is to win titles with Corinthians which will help to bring me to the coach’s eye. It is the ultimate objective for me to represent my country and to gain a World Cup for Brazil.

What are the differences between Brazil and Portugal?

Carlos Alberto

The people here are happier, there everybody is more quiet and shy.
