Former Paraná midfielder Kelvin shone as Porto beat Braga 3-1 for the 25th round of the Portuguese league.

The match took place at Porto’s Estádio do Dragão, Porto needed a win to close the gap on league leaders Benfica.

Alan opened the scoring for Braga in the first half, the former Ipatinga forward was helped by Márcio Mossoró, ex-Internacional.

James Rodríguez equalized 8 minutes before half-time, he has recently extended his contract with Porto until 2018.

Alex Sandro, ex-Santos, nearly scored Porto’s second goal in the second half as his shot hit the post.

Kelvin was brought from the bench to replace Lucho González, the former Paraná player had immediate impact.

He scored two goals in the last 15 minutes to give Porto the win, helping Porto reduce Benfica’s lead to only four points with five games left.

Porto and Braga will meet each other again in a few days for the Portuguese League Cup final.
