João Victor was hospitalised after the incident outside an official Palmeiras store in the Perdizes area of São Paulo involving several fans of the club.

Kléber was reportedly furious with the absence of a senior member of the club at the hospital and also the lack of an official press release condemning the incident.

The striker was involved in heated confrontations with both coach Luis Felipe Scolari and the club"s Vice-President Roberto Frizzo, which have resulted in the player not travelling with the squad to Rio de Janeiro.

Kléber"s ire was provoked by comments from Scolari to the squad about the incident. “This kind of thing happens, but the boy is well, on to the game," Scolari is reported to have said, before being challenged by the striker about the club"s indifference to the incident.

“Have they [the supporters] been at your house?" Kléber responded. “They were at mine!"

The striker was also involved in an incident with the same supporters group last week, when a group of ‘Mancha Alviverde" firm members arrived at his house.

Kléber is reported to believe that Scolari is using the players as a scapegoat to avoid criticism and therefore bringing unwarranted pressure from the supporters.

The Palmeiras board a yet to decide what to do about the striker"s latest difficult moment.
